The Free FAA ATP/ADX Study Roadmap
A four-week study sequence across all 10 subject modules: what to study, in what order, and how to check that you have actually understood it rather than merely read it.
- Subject checklist. All ten ATP/ADX subject modules broken into the specific topics you need to be able to do, not just recognise.
- Recommended study order. A sequence with the reasoning attached, so you can adapt it when your own weak areas do not match the default.
- Progress tracker. A week-by-week tracker for marking off what is genuinely done, as distinct from what has been read once.

Structure
The four weeks
Week 1
Regulations and dispatch procedures
Operational control, the dispatch release, alternate requirements and the structure of Part 121. Everything else makes more sense once this is solid.
Week 2
Weather, reports and forecasts
The physical behaviour first, then the products. Decoding METARs and TAFs is where the regulatory tests are actually applied.
Week 3
Weight and balance, performance and fuel
The calculation subjects. Highest marks per hour of study, because the method never changes and the traps are predictable.
Week 4
Navigation, flight planning and human factors
The remaining calculations, then consolidation across all ten subjects with mixed practice and a checkpoint self-assessment.
What this roadmap is not
It is a study structure, not a guarantee. No resource — this one included — can guarantee that you will pass an examination. What it can do is stop you spending four weeks studying in an order that leaves your weakest subject until the night before.
